म्य्स्टिक tales

A lioness who had just given birth to a cub had to leave it for a while to go out for hunting..Ashepherd found the cub and took it home and grew the cub among the sheep..one day alion saw the cub and told the cub that it was not sheep abut a lion..no iam a sheep said the cub and was not ready to agree with the lion..so the lion took the cub near a river and asked the cub to see her face in the water..The lion asked if she was looking like him..The cub said YES..so the lion asked the cub to roar with him like a lion..it did so and when the shepherd and shep heard the roar they all fled..

our senses are the sheep and our mind is the shepherd..The mind has confused the soul through the senses ..just as the lion comes in contact with the cub,the master meets the soul and tells her--you are a particle of supreme lord..go within and realize yourself..

under the guidance of the master, the soul discovers its true identity and becomes free of the mind and the senses...

THE LION CUB THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A SHEEP ..WE THINK THAT WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS..BUT WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TREASURE WE HAVE INSIDE US AND WHERE WE BELONG WE ARE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN..BUT DUE TO BECOMING SLAVE OF THE MIND WE HAVE FORGOTTEN OUR SOURCE..MASTERS COME AND WAKE US FROM OUR DEEP AMNESIA AND CONNECT US TO THE SUPREME LORD ..

Even GOD has a Sense of Humour !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even God has a Sense of Humour!!

God was in the process of creating the universe.
And he was explaining to his subordinates:

'Look everything should be in balance.
For example, after every 10 deer there should be a lion.

Look here my fellow angels, here is the country of the United States.
I have blessed them with prosperity and money.
But at the same time I have given them insecurity and tension....

And here is Africa. I have given them beautiful nature.
But at the same time, I have given them climatic extremes.

And here is South America. I have given them lots of forests.
But at the same time, I have given them lesser land so that they would
Have to cut off the forests...
So you see fellows, everything should be in balance.'

One of the angels asked...
'God, what is this extremely beautiful country here?'
God said....... 'Ahah...that is the crown piece of all. 'INDIA',
My most precious creation.
It has understanding and friendly People.
Sparkling streams and serene mountains.
A culture which speaks of the great tradition that they live.
Technologically brilliant and with a heart of gold.....'

The angel was quite surprised:
'But God! you said everything should be in balance.'

God replied --
'Look at the neighbours I gave them.'

The Manager says: "Do you have any sales experience?"
The Indian says: "Sir, I was a salesman back home in India."

Well, the boss liked the Indian chappie so he gave him the job. "You
start tomorrow.. I'll come down after we close and see how you did."

His first day on the job was rough but he got through it.

After the store was locked up, the boss came down.
"How many sales did you make today?"

Indian boy says: "Sir, Just ONE sale."

The boss says: "Just one? No! No! No! You see here our sales people average 20 or 30 sales a day." If you want to keep this job, you'd better be doing better
than just one sale. By the way, how much was the sale for?"
Indian boy says: " $101 237. 64"

Boss says: "$101 237. 64? What the hell did you sell?"

Indian boy says: "Sir, First I sell him small fishhook.
Then I sell him medium fishhook.
Then I sell him large fishhook.
Then I sold him new fishing rod and some fishing gear.

Then I ask him where he's going fishing and he said down on the
coast, so I told him he'll be needing a boat, so we went down to the boating department and I sell him twin engine Chris Craft.
Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I
took him down to our automotive department and sell him that 4X4 Blazer.
I then ask him where he'll be staying, and since he had no
accommodation,
I took him to camping department and sell him one of those new igloo 6 sleeper camper tents.

Then the guy said, while we're at it, I should throw in about $100
worth of groceries and two cases of beer.

The boss said: "You're not serious? A guy came in here to buy a
fishhook and you sold him a boat, a 4X4 truck and a tent?"

Indian boy says: "No Sirji, actually he came in to buy Anacin for
his headache, and I said: Well, fishing is the best way to relax your
mind."

11 Ways to Decompress after High Stress

11 Ways to Decompress after High Stress

These are some simple and great ways to destress after a tough day or event!

Work really well for me.

Deep breathing. Take a deep breath. Hold it. Now let it out … slowly. Try counting to 10 as you let out your breath. Feel the tension and stress flowing out of you with your breath. Repeat 3-10 times, as necessary.
Self-massage. I like to massage my shoulders, neck, head, lower back. It helps a lot. Even better: get your honey to do it for you! Another great relaxation technique is to tense up and then relax each muscle in your body, one at a time, starting from your toes up to your head.
Take a walk. When I’m in the middle of stress, I like to take a walk around the building. I also do the deep breathing and self-massage mentioned above as I do so. It’s a great way of letting go of tension and allowing yourself to re-focus.
Exercise. This morning, I went to the beach at 5:30 a.m. and went for a swim. It was beautiful at the beach at around sunrise, and the swim was invigorating. Yesterday I went for a bike ride, and the morning before it was a short but refreshing run. Tomorrow I think I’ll do another short run. It really gets the stress out of your system and gives you some quiet time to think when you exercise.
Get outdoors. Even if I didn’t do the swim, just being there at the beach, with my decaf coffee was calming. It’s nice to connect with nature and take in the beauty around you. While you’re there, stretch, yawn, take some deep breaths, and enjoy.
Disconnect. Turn off the phones, turn off the computer, and shut off the outside world for a little while. These things just raise your stress level. Go offline and forget about the online world! You can do it! Except for Karmic Mantra. That’s the only blog you’re allowed to read when you decompress.
Take a day off. That’s what I’m doing today. Don’t tell my boss. I have lots of vacation and sick leave saved up, so it’s not a problem, actually. I’m just going to veg out and allow myself to calm down and center.
Meditate. You don’t need to be trained to have a short, relaxing meditation session. Just sit somewhere quiet, close your eyes, relax, and focus on your breathing. Try to concentrate on it coming into your body, and then going out. When other things pop into your head (they will, inevitably), just acknowledge them (don’t try to force them out) and allow them to leave, and then focus again on your breathing. Do this for as long as you can, and then take a couple of cleansing breaths, and get up a new person.
Read. I like to throw myself on the couch with a good book. Well, not necessarily a good book — a page-turner. Something that will engross me completely, take my mind off everything else. John Grisham works well for me, as does William Gibson. And Terry Pratchett. Or Ann Patchett, for that matter. And Stephen King. Just get lost in their world.
Love. I like to spend time with my kids or my wife. Just snuggle with them, focus on them, forget about the world. They are all that’s important, and sometimes I need that reminder.
Take a nap. One of my favorites. Just take a 30-minute nap, and you’re re-set! A nap is like a restart button for life.

Why Kill Any Living Beings ? Why Pandavas should Kill Kauravas ?

Our scripts say -Death comes by accidents, by calamities- by other
living beings such as snake bite, by tiger killing human and other
animals. Death comes by diseases based on one`s karma, so on.
Sastras are considered as pramanams. Sastra says human killing
another human is known as Brahma Hathi (Brahma Dhosam) certainly a
sin.

But same scripts say- Killing some bad one to save a village is NO
sin. Destroying a village and people is No sin to save a big town.
Destroying a town to save 10 towns is NO sin. Destroying 10 towns to
save a big city (100 towns) is NO sin.

Killing some one causes sin (Brama Hathi). But that act done for the
good of society at large is called Dharma. That act should never be
even 0.001% for selfish gains. Anything done for selfish gain become
Paapa (sin). Anything done for selfless gain becomes Punnya.
Kauravas were so wicked, notorious, corrupted, they did anything and
everything for their pleasures, not being mindful of others
sufferings. They were given may opportunities to rectify themselves.
At end they remained the evil and had to be killed for maintaining
peace and dharma.

When Pandavas were children, Duryodan (He) mixed poison in sweets
(Laddu) and gave to Bheema. Bheema Was saved. Later He wanted to kill
Pandavas, made a wax house for them to stay in and soon after set
fire to it. Pandavas escaped through a tunnel. Again he planned and
made Pandavas to gamble, took away their property, disrobed Droupati,
sent them to exile. While they were in forest, Duryodana visited
adject forest to have Vana Bojana. Indra sent Gandarvas to arrest
Duryodana, Karna and others. Gandarvas tied them up and was dragging.
The news went to Dharmaraja. Bheema felt happy, but Dharmaraja said
to Arjuna to wage war with Gandarvas and release Duryodana's people.
Later when Pandavas were in Agnathavas, Duryodhan waged war illegally
and lost the battle. Bagavan Krishna visited as messenger to
pandavas, asked to compensate ONLY 5 villages to Pandavas, Duryodana
refused saying that He will not give place as small as a neddle
point. He again tried to rope up Bagavan and kill Sri Krishna, who
took Viswaroop and showed HIS might. Duryodana said to others that
Viswaroop was magic/illusion.

Duryodana uppa Kathas (small incidents) show He was wicked,
notorious, cunning, wreckless, dishonourable to parents and elders,
womaniser, cheater etc. Therfore with heavy bad deeds to His account
He had was given very long rope and then killed. One stage Bagavan
and Vithura asks Duryodhana, "Is it correct to do all these sins".
Duryodan replied, "I cannot help it though I know I am doing worst
sins".

Duryodana father Dukshasan was a bad man in earlier birth blinding
crane birds. So he was born blind and senseless.
Such bad people Bagavan said that they are to be killed by Arjuna
(king) which is Arjuna's Dharma to safeguard interests of society at
large and also to establish Dharma on earth. Leaving and running away
is not king` s Karma Marg.
To Vudhava Bagavan said go to Badrinath and do Tapas, because Vudhava
was fit for that as his gnana Marg

When a man is willing and eager, the Gods join

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written:

"Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym".

In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself. The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. Everyone thought: "Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died!".

One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul.

There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could see himself.

There was also a sign next to the mirror that said: "There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU."

You are the only person who can revolutionize your life.
You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself.

Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your partner changes, when your company changes. Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life.
"The most important relationship you can have, is the one you have with yourself"

The world is like a mirror: it gives back to anyone the reflection of the thoughts in which one has strongly believed.

The world and your reality are like mirrors lying in a coffin, which show to any individual the death of his divine capability to imagine and create his happiness and his success.

It's the way you face Life that makes the difference.

When a man is willing and eager, the GODS join in.

The Jack Fruit Tree

A big jack-tree in a man's courtyard was laden with fruits. From the very bottom of the trunk up to the top most branch it was dotted with fruits.

As though one possessed with an evil spirit, the man rushes out towards the fruit several times. He touches the jack-fruit, but the surface is uninviting. He abandons it in disgust.

Far away from home he had seen one palm tree. Walking in the hot sun several miles, he stands near the tree. His craving had reached its zenith. The few small fruits that hung on the top of the tree tempt him.

He rushes forward. He falls on the bush of prickly pears and gets injured by the thorns all over the body. Not discouraged by this he tries to climb the tree. The scales that cover the trunk are hard and knife-like. They hurt him. But he does not mind.

As he climbs, a swarm of poisonous ants that sting like devils, sting him all over the body. He has somehow managed to reach the top; such is his mad passion for the little fruits. The fruits are surrounded by hundreds of bees. When he lays his hands upon them, the bees angrily sting him.

In spite of this, he tries to grab the fruits. Then and there he drops more than half the catch. With the remainder, he tries to climb down. Several fruits drop off his hand before he reaches the ground. He sits himself down to enjoy the few fruits left with him.

To his horror he discovers that the major portion of these little fruits is hard nut; and then even the skin has to be thrown away. There is little pulp in the fruit. In disgust he throws the fruits away.

Instantly he comes back to his senses, and begins to suffer with agony. The pain of the thorns, the bites of the poisonous ants, the stings of the bees, and the cuts produced on his body by the sharp scales of the tree - these seem to torment him all at once.

It is now past several days since he left home. With his tattered clothes and bleeding body, he runs home .... to find that his father had been waiting for him with the delicious jack-fruit.

The young man stumbles into the house and falls at the father's feet. Without asking a question, the father gives him new clothes, pulls out the thorns from his body, dresses up the wounds, all the time feeding him with the honey-like jack-fruit. The young man's happiness is now complete. Peacefully he sleeps on his father's lap.

Similarly, man ignores the fountain of Eternal Bliss that is within the core of his own heart. He is frightened away by the apparent initial difficulties to reach God. He does not care to cut open this rough exterior and enjoy the highest bliss.. He is hungry. He runs away from home and from this tree that yields the best fruit. Here he falls into the thorny bush of dishonour; there he knocks against the rock of failure. Lured by illusory pleasure he succumbs to passion.

Caller ID - Do Not Delete ...

AINT' GOD GOOD !!!

On a Saturday night several weeks ago, this pastor was working late, and decided to call his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn't answer the phone.

The pastor let the phone ring many times. He thought it was odd that she didn't answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes. When he tried again she answered right away. He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it hadn't rung at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways..

The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office, which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night. The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday night.

The pastor couldn't figure out what the man was talking about. Then the man said, "It rang and rang, but I didn't answer." The pastor remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he'd intended to call his wife.

The man said, "That's, OK. Let me tell you my story.

You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but before I did, I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now.' At that point my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said, 'Almighty God'. I was afraid to answer!"

The reason why it showed on the man's caller ID that the call came from "Almighty God" is because the church that the pastor attends is called Almighty God Tabernacle!!

READ EACH SENTENCE SLOWLY AND THINK ABOUT IT.

Love starts with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.

Don't cry over anyone who won't cry over you.

Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.

Don't let the past hold you back, you're missing the good stuff.

BEST FRIENDS are the siblings God forgot to give us.

When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your BEST FRIEND will be there.

Nobody is perfect until you fall in love with them.

Send this on to everyone special in your life, even the people who really make you mad sometimes and to the people whose lives you want to be in!!!

And send it back to the person who sent it to you if they mean something to you!! Remember, every minute spent angry is sixty seconds of happiness wasted.

Excellence

A gentleman was once visiting a temple under construction.

In the temple premises, he saw a sculptor making an idol of God.

Suddenly he saw, just a few meters away, another identical idol was lying.

Surprised he asked the sculptor, do you need two statutes of the same idol.

No said the sculptor. We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage.

The gentleman examined the statue. No apparent damage was visible.

Where the damage is? Asked the gentleman.

There is a scratch on the nose of the idol.

Where are you going to keep the idol? Asked the gentleman.

The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar 20 feet high.

The gentleman asked- When the idol will be 20 feet away from the eyes of the beholder, who is going to know that there is scratch on the nose anyways?

The sculptor looked at the gentleman, smiled and said, " God knows it and I know it ".

The desire to excel should be exclusive of the fact whether someone appreciates it or not.

Excellence is a drive from Inside not Outside.

Wisdom

Wisdom is not only found in books
It can be found if one but looks
Wisdom is knowing right from wrong
If one is weak or one is strong

Wisdom is accumulated over the years
Sometimes at the expense of heartache and tears
Wisdom is a gift that is given to few
It leads us to do what we need to do

Wisdom is something to cherish and hold
A treasure that can not be bought with gold
Wisdom is something that all should seek
To teach the young as they begin to speak

Once we have wisdom it will not fade
It is a gift to learn that God made
Some say wisdom means we are smart
But they are missing an important part

Yes, wisdom seems more for the old
Who have been around long we're told
Now it is our duty to our young to teach
To understand their goals to reach

Learn wisdom through God's Holy Book
Lean on Him show them where to look
Show love, compassion and forgiveness for all to know
An example of wisdom to friends they will show

Humans are of varying shades of gray.

Fill it with all you are
If you've been looking for an opportunity, this is it. If you've been waiting for the right time to move forward, that time has arrived.

On this day, you have the power to take action. In this moment, you have the ability to make a difference.

Hopes, dreams and wishes can be powerful and compelling, yet if they remain imprisoned within you, you'll never know their true beauty and value. Now is when you can take the very best of what's in you, and give it room to grow.

Reality is where you are right here and now. And the great thing is, you're able to shape that reality as it arrives.

So take the opportunity to shape the reality of this day to mirror the best that is within you. This is when your values, your visions, and your unique essence can be given expression and fulfillment.

The time is upon you to create and to experience life's richness in your own special way. Fill it with meaning and purpose, and fill it with all you are.

To be white is to be an Angel. To be black is to be a Devil. To be gray is to be a Human.

Humans are of varying shades of gray. Their personalities are a combination of white and black, godliness and deviousness. To expect a human to not have any flaw would be to expect that human to be an Angel. Humans are not Angels. To condemn a human as all evil is to condemn that human to be a Devil. Humans are not devils.

I am not talking about the minuscule percentage of rare humans who by their deeds have become comparable to Angels or to Devils. I am talking about the large majority. People like you and me. Most of us do things that may not be right. But we also do things that are right. Sometimes we do things that are evil. But many times we also do things that are kind. We have our weaknesses, but we also have our strengths. We may fail in many endeavors, but we also have many victories. We are human; a mix of white and black; a shade of gray.

So forgive yourself for all your weaknesses, failures and evils of the past. You are just a human. You are bound to be gray. Strive to be a lighter shade of gray.

The Rich man & The Poor man

The Rich man & The Poor man

A weak and starving dervish once begged at the door of a rich man.'Away with you' said the wealthy man in proud anger, you will get nothing from me!'

How the dervish's heart bled at this. 'It's astonishing that such a man should be so severe', he said. 'It is obvious that he has had no experience of begging.'

'Is he gone?' shouted the rich man to his slave. 'If not, go and clear him from my door.' The slave came out and drove the dervish away.

The rich man behaved like that, because he was not truly grateful to the one who pervades all. Circumstances soon changed for the rich man. His fortunes altered dramatically and suddenly and he was ruined. He was not even left with an ass upon which he could carry his personal belongings - which was perhaps as well because he hadn't any.

Then he sat in a dusk, naked, with an empty purse at is feet. The slave was sold to another master. The new master who was also rich but there the similarity to his old master ended, for this one was old and generous to all, rich in goods and in heart. When he saw a poor man, he rejoiced at the opportunity to be generous. He was delighted t give as the poor man was to receive.

One night he herd a cry at the door. 'A morsel, please I beg, one morsel!' 'Slave', said the kind man, ' Take that tray from the table. Go and gladden the beggar's heart..'

The slave did as he was ordered. He returned with tears flooding down his cheeks. 'What is the matter?' the master asked. 'It is the beggar.' the slave cried. ' I have just recognized him. He was my old master.. He once owned vast property, silver and gold. But now, look at him, a destitute beggar.'

'Don't be distressed, my son', said the master.. 'You see here two examples of how in the course of time, no one is treated unfairly. You recognized your master. Do you not also recognise in me the starving dervish whom he once ordered to be thrown out into the street?'

India can do this!! - Well done ISRO scientists.‏

PSLV-C9 launched successfully with 10 satellites

April 28, 2008

India on Monday created history by launching ten satellites in one go with its Polar launch vehicle carrying the heaviest payload of 824 kg.

The ten-pack launch of the Indian Space Research Organisation saw the 230-tonne Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C9) put into orbit an Indian Mini Satellite and eight foreign nano satellites besides the Cartosat-2A remote sensing satellite.

This is the first time that ISRO has put ten satellites into orbit in a single launch.

A Russian rocket in 2007 delivered 16 satellites in the outer space but the Russian launch vehicle carried a lesser payload of only around 300 kg.

"We have shown the world we can have multiple launches carried out in a precise manner. We have set a record. Only Russia [Images] has so far tried to launch 13 satellites in a single launch and I am not sure whether that was successful," ISRO chairman G Madhavan [Images] Nair.

He said there were some anxious moments due to some unusual weather conditions over the Bay of Bengal off the Andaman coast. "Only at 11 pm last night we decided to go ahead with the launch".

Nair expressed happiness that all the mission objectives were achieved with precision and all systems functioned very well.

"The PSLV-C9, in its total flight of 1,151 seconds, has performed extremely well. It's much better than a text book performance. Every system functioned as per the parameters," Nair said.

The CARTOSAT-2A and with IMS-1, followed by the nano satellites were released in quick succession, he said.

"We have received information from international customers that they have received signals from the satellites at their ground stations. The mission stations at Thiruvananthapuram and Mauritius have also received information that the satellites are in good health and we hope that if everything goes right within the next two days, we would be able to switch on the imaging system," Nair said.

He said while $0.6 million was charged for the nano satellites, it cost around Rs 120 crore for the CARTOSAT and Rs 22 crore for the IMS-1.

The launch comes ahead of India's plans to launch its first moon mission - Chandrayaan-I - expected later this year.

On the Chandrayaan Mission, Nair said a modest satellite, weighing about 500 kg, would be launched into the lunar orbit to collect topographical data of the moon.

"We hope by the third quarter of this year, we should be able to take a satellite to the moon," he said.

He said ISRO planned to induct indigenous cryogenic stage into the GSLV soon.

Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre director K Radhakrishnan, who was also present at the launch, said ISRO had started designing space capsules to send two astronauts on a low earth orbit in the next seven years for the manned mission to space.

Considering the safety of the crew and vehicle, which will be the GSLV, the design aspects were taken up very seriously and there would be an unmanned mission before sending the astronauts, Radhakrishnan said.

"The man mission is necessary for the country as the US, Russia, China and some major European countries already in the scenario as prominent players," he said.

Before the manned mission, there would be three unmanned missions which would be undertaken BY GSLV MK-III. The government had already made an initial allotment of Rs 95 crore for the mission, he said.

The PSLV blasted off from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 9.24 am and fourteen minutes later, the fourth stage injected the ten satellites into the 635 km polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO).

This is the thirteenth flight of PSLV and the third with the 'core-alone' configuration, without the hugging six strap-on booster motors that powers the first stage.

CARTOSAT-2A, weighing about 690 kg, carries a state-of-the-art Panchromatic camera that can record high clarity images covering a swathe of 9.6 kms. It will provide data that could be used for urban and rural infrastructure management and land information systems.

The highly agile remote sensing satellite can be manoeuvred to facilitate imaging of any area more frequently.

The 83 kg IMS-1, developed by ISRO, incorporated many new technologies and has miniaturised subsystems. Data from it will be shared with other developing countries.

The eight nano satellites, built by universities and research institutions in Canada [Images] and Germany [Images], were launched under a commercial agreement.

Fourteen Things That It Took Me Over 50 Years To Learn

Fourteen Things That It Took Me Over 50 Years To Learn

1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

2.If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be "meetings."

3.There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

4.People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

5.You should not confuse your career with your life.

6.Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

7.Never lick a steak knife.

8.The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

9.You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

10.You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

11.There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age eleven.

12.The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above-average drivers.

13.A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person. (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)

14.Your friends love you anyway.

Never break 4 things in your life –
TRUST, PROMISE, RELATIONS & HEART.
Bcz when they break they don't make noise but pains a lot?

Dasopadesam

> One of our duties as human beings is to avail ourselves of every
opportunity to do good to others. The poor can serve others by their
loyal work to the country and the rich by their wealth to help the
poor. Those who are influential can use their influence to better the
condition of the lowly. That way we can keep alive in our hearts a
sense of social service
> Man by himself cannot create even a blade of grass. We will be
guilty of gross ingratitude if we do not offer first to God what we
eat or wear - only the best and choicest should be offered to Him.
> Life without love is a waste. Everyone should cultivate "Prema"
or love towards all human beings, bird and beast.
> Wealth amassed by a person whose heart is closed to charity, is
generally dissipated by the inheritors: but the family of
philanthropists will always be blessed with happiness.
> A person who has done a meritorious deed will lose the resulting
merit if he listens to the praise of others or himself boasts of his
deeds.
> It will do not good to grieve over what has happened. If we learn
to discriminate between good and evil, that will guard us from falling
into the evil again.
> We should utilise to good purpose, the days of our life-time. We
should engage ourselves in acts which will contribute to the welfare
of others rather than to our selfish desires.
> We should perform duties that have been prescribed for our daily
life and also be filled with devotion to God.
> One attains one's goal by performance of one's duties.
> Jnana is the only solvent of our troubles and sufferings.

THOUGHT FOR CONTEMPLATION:

The power of forgiveness:

Many of our problems in life are because of negative vibrations emanated by others against us. These negative vibrations are emanated generally in retaliation to our conscious or unconscious insult, unruly behavior, anger or hurting their sentiments. These negative vibrations can affect us by way of ill health, financial losses, accidents or strained relations. We can neutralize the effect of these negative vibrations by seeking forgiveness from people through meditation. The vibrations emanated by us while seeking forgiveness through meditation, have the power to neutralize others negative vibrations thus helping us lead a peaceful life.

Ramesh Jain

Real life experience of a workshop participant:

I was going through one of the worst phases in my life by way of losses in business; deteriorating health and hurdles in daughter's marriage. I could never know the reason until I attended your workshop in Mumbai. I realized it was all because of my bad behavior with my own brother and other family members. I sought forgiveness from all of them in the way you told me to do in meditation and the results were astonishing. Within a week my relations improved with my family members and my business turned around and everything else became normal. Since then me and my family members are living a happy life. I never knew that others negative vibrations can have such an effect on our lives.

The Science of Mantras Makes Possible the Impossible

The Science of Mantras Makes Possible the Impossible -1

Healing by mantras is an important aspect of the science of occultism. It can provide healing even in incurable-looking diseases, remedy personality disorders and enable one to overcome the greatest of difficulties. The impossible becomes possible; the unachievable is made achievable. The true adepts in the theory and practice of this science are capable of yoking the powers of nature favorably and positively modifying the course of destiny.

What is mantra? The literal answer is "mananat trayate iti mantra" i.e. that whose contemplation gives succor is mantra. It is a unique and potent combination of syllables, which is capable of stirring and illuminating the subliminal world of consciousness. Many define mantra as an uplifting, energy-charged sublimated thought current. For example, Gayatri Mahamantra is the most sacred and sublime thought in the whole creation. In it, prayer has been made to the Divine symbolized as Sun on behalf of whole of humanity for the gifts of righteousness and enlightened intelligence. But the intellectual understanding of the meaning of mantra, although good, is not in itself sufficient to make it efficacious. It does not encompass all the variegated dimensions of a mantra. A mantra may have a meaning, or it may not have one. It may be sublime thought, or it may not be. Many times, the arrangement of its syllables is such as to give out a meaning, while at other times, this construction is so haphazard that no intelligible meaning can be made out of it.

As a matter of fact, a mantra is not created with any specific meaning or thought in mind. Its sole purpose is to devise a method for accessing, attracting and absorbing a specific current of the cosmic energy and its purposeful harnessing. Whatever be the mantra -vedic, puranic or tantric - its mechanism is the same. It would be apposite here to also keep in mind that creation or construction of a mantra is not an intellectual process. However talented or brilliant a person may be, he cannot create mantras. It is the job of only the rishis and seers, whose divine vision is capable of peeping into the subtlest realms.

These adept sadhak’s, through their sadhana, see the specific currents of the cosmic energy whose presiding deities, called gods or goddesses, make them manifest. The configuration of the mantra is revealed in the sadhak’s inner consciousness as a reflection of this manifestation. We may call it the word-image of the energy current or devashakti (deity-power) . In mantra vidya (science), it is called the seed mantra of a particular devashakti. Which aspect and for which purpose this energy-mode of the devashakti has to be captured and borne determines the development of other mantras of this particular deity. That is why, there can be many mantras of a particular god or goddess. Each one of these mantras is capable of fulfilling the specific purpose associated with it.

The methodology of a mantra’s functioning is novel. As the specific phase of its sadhana is completed, it connects the sadhak’s inner consciousness with the specific cosmic energy current or devashakti. But this is one aspect of its function. In its other aspect, it simultaneously makes the sadhak qualified and fit to receive this special power. By mantra - sadhana, certain secret recesses or zones of the sadhak’s interior become activated, and he becomes capable of receiving, bearing and harnessing those subtle energies. Only then the mantra is said to have become siddha (accomplished or mastered).

The Science of Mantras Makes Possible the Impossible -2

This mantrasiddhi does not come by mere rote chanting or mechanical repetition. This explains why a good many persons even after years of sadhana of a mantra have to meet with disappointment. Either they get no result at all or only partial and negligible result. The fault lies not with the mantra but with the sadhak. It is important to bear in mind that any mantra- sadhana requires the sadhak to attune his life to the peculiar nature of the mantra. Apart from strict observance of the rules of mantra- sadhana, he is also required to conform his diet and dress, speech and conduct to the temperament and nature of the deity. For example, white dress may be essential in one case while in another it could be yellow.

If everything is performed correctly, siddhi of the mantra is inevitable. Mantra siddhi means energies of the Mantra becoming active in the arena of sadhaka inner consciousness. This condition may be roughly likened to a hard working farmer digging a long canal and bringing the waters of a great river to his fields. Just as completion of the canal leads to his whole agricultural lands being permanently irrigated and saturated with waves of water, even so, after Siddhi of the Mantra the energy flow of Devashakti keeps gushing and pouring every moment into the inner consciousness of the sadhak. He can employ this force according to his resolve. He can cure incurable ailments by the potency of specific mantras.

Swami Nigamanand of West Bengal was one such Mantra-Siddha sage. He had mastered many Mantras and Mahamantras. His voice, glance, resolve, touch- were all miraculous. His mere resolve cured dying patients. Once this great soul went to a village Sumerpukur. It was dusk turning to darkness. There was an ominous silence in the air. The people looked sad and dejected. Enquiry revealed that one Mahendralal, son of one of the village’s moneylenders, Ishwardhar, had been seriously ill for many months. That particular day his condition had turned precarious and it appeared that he would not survive the night. The village vaidya (healer) had given up all hopes.

Swamiji proceeded to the house of Ishwardhar. The inhabitants first mistook the monk for a routine seeker of food and shelter and pleaded their inability to serve him that day. Nigamanand assured them: "Do not worry. I have come here not to get any service but to offer one". The householders were skeptical but nevertheless met his demands of certain articles of worship. Nigamanand sat near the dying patient and closed his eyes, a faint quiver on his lips.

After some time, Mahendralal opened his eyes, his face started regaining colour and within an hour or so he sat up and asked for water to drink. That night, he slept well; the next day he ate meals of his choice. All were awe-struck at this miracle. The elderly village vaidya asked: "Which medicine could achieve this wonder’? Nigamanand replied: "Vaidyaraj, it is not the effect of any medicine, but of mantra, the mantra of the Divine Mother". When all medicines fail, all worldly efforts prove futile; it is the mantra alone which can breathe life into the dying. Mantra - healing done by a true Mantra-Siddha never fails.

The Bridge Builder

The Bridge Builder
By Will Allen Dromgoole
An old man, going a lone highway,
Came, at the evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned, when safe on the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.
"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way;
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide-
Why build you a bridge at the eventide?"
The builder lifted his old gray head:
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today,
A youth, whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm, that has been naught to me,
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

Ten career-damaging behaviours to avoid.‏

1. Poor Time Management
Missing deadlines, failing to abide by agreed timelines, arriving to meetings late and generally disrespecting approved schedules is a surefire way to lose credibility and professional respect. Try to value each and every minute on the job and recognize the inefficiencies that arise from procrastination and slovenly time management and the impact these have on the organisation as a whole.
2. Failure to Deliver on Promises
A promise made should be a promise kept if your professional credibility is to remain intact. Avoid making promises you cannot deliver on. Unless you are known as someone who can be strictly depended on to follow through and deliver on time you are likely to be passed over for promotions and key assignments. When you do need more time or resources for an assignment communicate the requirement formally and professionally and manage the situation to show you are in control and will not be sacrificing on quality of delivery.
3. Poor Accountability
Accountability, a close reactive of honesty is an essential character trait in today’s workplace. Avoid becoming known as the sour apple who usurps all credit and circumvents all blame. If you have made an error, admitting to it in a timely manner avoids an unnecessary escalation, earns you the confidence and respect of those around you, and indicates professionalism, honesty and maturity.
4. Poor interpersonal skills
All research indicates that emotional intelligence and people skills are an essential ingredients for success in life and at work. Whether it is suppliers, clients, superiors, colleagues or subordinates you are dealing with the quality and success of that relationship will be largely predicated by how personable you are and how pleasant you are to interact with. If you have a reputation as someone who is difficult to work or interact with chances are people will start to avoid you and your success at mobilizing people or resources to further your goals will be severely diminished.
5. Poor team skills
A good team-player is able to work cohesively within a team framework and contribute, collaborate, communicate and challenge to meet specific goals within that framework. Inability to see beyond one’s self, work well with everyone, find the good qualities of others in the team, communicate persuasively and effectively, listen actively and attentively, give and welcome input, offer encouragement and assistance where needed and show respect, patience and courtesy inevitably leads to marginalisation and failure to meet personal and professional goals.
6. Lack of ethics or professionalism
Conducting personal business on the job and any other activities that show flagrant disrespect for company time, resources and property are both unethical and unprofessional. Chatting endlessly on the job, office gossip, wasting office supplies, laying about important work-related matters, back-biting the boss, spreading office secrets, routinely bringing personal matters to the workplace all fall under this category.
7. Lack of initiative
Complacency is a surefire road to professional mediocrity. To succeed it is essential that you continue to show enthusiasm, stretch the limits, be proactive and test the boundaries in the interest of innovation. Take responsibility for your personal and professional growth and continue to build momentum in your training and profession development activities. If you chose to simply lie low and casually bide your time while others race ahead in their careers you will most probably be overlooked for promotions and plum assignments and your skills may well eventually become redundant.
8. Inability to Handle Pressure
Every job entails a certain amount of stress and pressure and failure to recognize and handle the strain may lead to a pronounced and sustained decline in performance. Learn to recognize stress and cope with it professionally and effectively. Take breaks and holidays when needed, learn to manage stress and cope with pressure so that it is not an ongoing problem for you. It may be that the pressures mounting on you are due to poor time management or delegation skills or weakness in a certain area in which case developing your skills in these areas is highly advisable.
9. Lone Ranger Syndrome
Team skills are essential in today’s marketplace as is getting along with others and communicating your accomplishments regularly and professionally. Do not try to isolate yourself and excel quietly in private as chances are your performance will not get the exposure and credit it deserves. Personal marketing and effective relationship management are key to career success. Aim to regularly and professionally communicate your private coups to your manager and others in a position to help your career advancement and do not assume your great work and personal victories will automatically get noticed and given the credit they deserve.
10. Stasis
You may well be in your comfort zone and doing very well there but if you don’t challenge yourself in pursuit of further growth and development and continuously move forward and upward you may lose your equilibrium sooner than you expected. Have a vision in mind as pertains to your career and formulate a clear strategy and timeline for getting there which you can regularly benchmark and measure yourself against. Continuous learning, development and self-improvement is a necessity not a luxury for today’s ambitious professional and it is imperative that you keep abreast of the latest trends, tools and technologies in your field and not risk losing ground to the star performers who take personal growth more seriously.

On the first day God created the dog. God said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years." The dog said, "That's too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I'll give you back the other ten."
So God agreed.

On the second day God created the monkey. God said, "Entertain people, do monkey tricks and make them laugh. I'll give you a twenty-year life span." The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years? I don't think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that's what I'll do too, okay?"
And God agreed.

On the third day God created the cow. "You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves, and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years."
The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty and I'll give back the other forty."
And God agreed again.

On the fourth day God created man. God said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. I'll give you twenty years."
Man said, "What? Only twenty years? Tell you what, I'll take my twenty, and the forty the cow gave back, and the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back, that makes eighty, okay?"

Okay," said God, "You've got a deal."

So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, and enjoy ourselves; the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family; the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren; and the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

कुओतेस-रीड it

Life is not what it seems. Obstacles may not be obstacles. Pains may not be undesirable. Seeming difficulties may be your friends. For, if the overall objective of human life, according to the Divine will, is evolution, progress towards perfection, then everything that comes your way should have in it the potential for helping you in this process.

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Courage is about doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared before you do it.

It is your attitude at the beginning of a task that determines success or failure.

Don't wait until people are dead to give them flowers.

Don't let your pride or lack of courage stand in the way of saying you're sorry.

Never stop doing your best just because someone doesn't give you credit.

It doesn't take strength to hold a grudge; it takes strength to let go of one.

I would rather make my name than inherit it.

Measure your days by how the corners of your mouth turn.

The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.

I've been trying to find the word that says what I need to be in life.

"Brave' is the only word. It's the only thing that I ask myself to be.

Naama Chanting ( Birbal & अकबर)

Birbal was a minister in the court of Akbar. Birbal,
apart from his sharp intellect, was also a devotee of
Sri Rama. Akbar had a special regard for Birbal.

Akbar used to openly ask Birbal to clarify his
impulsive - and very often strange doubts. Birbal
never failed to give an immediate and a fitting reply
to such questions. Wherever Akbar went, he used to
take Birbal along with him. During one such instance,
when they travelled for some official purpose, they
had to take a route through a dense forest. In the
course of the journey, both were totally exhausted and
famished. So they decided to rest under the shade of
a tree for a while before continuing their journey.
Since Akbar was very hungry, he wanted to look around
the place to see if he can find a house to get some
food. He induced Birbal to follow suit. But Birbal who
was in the midst of Rama Nama Japam (Repetition of
Rama Nama), turned down Akbar's request.

Akbar looked at Birbal.

'Mere chanting of the names of the Lord would not
fetch you food. You have to put in your efforts....
You cannot achieve anything without self effort...'
Akbar left Birbal in the pursuit of pacifying his
belly. In a little while he spotted a house. The
inmates of the house were overjoyed to see their King
coming to their very doorstep for food. They treated
him to the best of their capacity. Akbar finished his
meal and took a little food for Birbal too and left
the house to meet Birbal. He met Birbal and gave him
the food.

'See Birbal, I told you... I took some efforts for the
food and I got it. You were just sitting and chanting
Rama Nama , and you did not get any food.'

Birbal ignored his scoffing and partook the food given
by Akbar. After he finished the meal, he looked up at
Akbar and said,

'I have just now experienced the power of Rama nama,
like never before. You are the ruler of the land. But
today even the King had to beg for food. But you look
at me. I was just chanting Rama Nama here and the Rama
Nama made the king himself to get me food, that too
by begging. So I got the food, just by sitting here
and chanting Rama nama without any other special
efforts.

Moral:Such is the power of Rama Nama!!'

Funny mathematics

1) Teacher tells a student a=b, b=c implies a=c. Tell me an example.
Student : I love u - u love your daughter - so I love your daughter.

2) Its funny when people discuss over "love marriage" and "arranged marriage"
It is like asking a person if he would like to "hang himself" or "shoot himself".

3) What is a girl friend?
Addition of problems, subtraction of money, multiplication of enemies & division of friends.

4) A married man was asked to perform his SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity , Threat) Analysis.
He said, my strength is my wife.
My weakness is my neighbours wife.
Opportunity comes when neighbour goes out.
Threat comes when I myself go out

5)Guide: "I welcome you all to Niagara Falls . These are the world's largest
waterfalls and the sound intensity of the waterfall is so high, even 20
supersonic planes passing by can't be heard.

Now may I request the ladies to keep quite so that we can hear the Niagara
Falls?"

What is a sundog and what makes it happen?

Q: What is a sundog and what makes it happen? (Trsitan, 10 years old, Renton, Washington)

A: A sundog is a rainbow-like spot in a cirrus cloud. Light shining through ice crystals in the cloud makes a sundog, much like light shining through raindrops makes a rainbow. "They are reddish on the side facing the sun and often have bluish-white tails stretching horizontally away from them," say David Lynch and William Livingston in Color and Light in Nature.

Cirrus clouds--those high fleecy white bands or patches in the sky--are mostly tiny particles of ice. Ice can take on many forms and shapes. The cloud ice, however, is shaped like hex bathroom tiles or stubby pencils each no bigger than the tiniest grains of sand. These ice crystals bend light like a prism, disperse its colors, and cause sundogs.

When the crystals line up like tiles on a table, the light shining through makes sundogs. The horizontal crystals bend the light 22 degrees, say Lynch and Livingston, as the light enters and exits the crystal. Light colors fan out from the bending and display as a sundog.

Sundogs are among the most commonly seen sky phenomena, appearing most prominently when the sun is low.

"They usually appear in pairs two handbreadths on either side of the sun when it rises or sets behind a very thin veil of high cirrus clouds", says astronomer Richard Teske of the University of Michigan. Hold your arms straight out to estimate the two handbreadths.

Sundogs, also known as mock suns or "parhelia", are a pair of brightly
colored spots, one on either side of the sun.

Sundogs form as sunlight is refracted
tr/opt/ice/sd. rxml> by hexagonal plate-like ice crystals with diameters
larger than 30 micrometers and their flat faces horizontally oriented.

Sundogs are visible when the sun is near the horizon and on the same
horizontal plane as the observer and the ice crystals. As sunlight
passes through the ice crystals, it is bent by 22 degrees before
reaching our eyes, much like what happens with 22 degree halos
/ice/sd.rxml> . This bending of light results in the formation of a
sundog.

The difference between sundogs and halos
/ice/sd.rxml> is the preferential orientation of the ice crystals
through which the light passes before reaching our eyes. If the
hexagonal crystals are oriented with their flat faces horizontal, a
sundog is observed. If the hexagonal crystals are randomly oriented, a
halo is observed.

BROADBAND INTERNET RULES

BROADBAND INTERNET RULES

One GB is 1024 Megabyte or 1073741824 bytes. You can do the following with 1 GB download limit : 1.. An average web page is about 50 kilobytes in size - so you could download around 20,000 web pages for 1 gigabyte. 2. An hour of surfing the web would be around 10 megabytes (200 pages) so you could surf non-stop for about 100 hours for 1 gigabyte. 3. An hour of streamed radio would use about 15-20 megabytes. 4. An hour of streamed video uses around 100-150 megabytes. 5. Playing an online game typically uses about 10-15 megabytes per hour. 6. Emails are very small - so 100 emails would be just 1 megabyte - or 100,000 emails for 1 gigabyte! (of course the attachments count extra) 7. A super-high resolution (5-6 megapixel) digital camera JPEG picture or typical MP3 music file is about 2-3 megabytes so you could download 350-500 of these images/music files for 1 gigabyte. Very few users would actually exceed the download limits set.

A firewall is a system designed to prevent unauthorized access to or from a private computer/network. It is highly recommended that all Internet users (even using standard dialup access ) should have a firewall to protect their computer/network. As ADSL broadband service are Always on it is even more important. Many free firewall softwares like ZoneAlarm, Sygate Personal Firewall etc are available on the Web for download.

In broadband connection it is different from dial up connection. Here frequency does not matter as it is always on connection. What matters is the size of the pages you visit. If you visit sites which are having small graphics and more text then you are downloading very small amount of data. But if you are visitIng sites with large graphics or streaming videos then you are downloading higher amount of data.

All the saints have emphasised that this human body is very rare to get and when we are here as humans we are on the top of the ladder..This human form is eligible to attain god-realization.how can we attain godliness?kabir sahib says that we have to die while living..This body will one day wither ..All the five elements present in the body will go to its place..when the soul is there, all the five elements co-ordinate together for the nourishment of the life..but as soon as the soul leaves the body in its alloted time ,the same five elements no more are harmonious..that is why we burn or bury the body..as long as the soul is there we are respected..when the soul departs from the body ,we become ....IT....so while we are alive we have to die to live with HIM for ever ..we have to be always with the people who speak about god..kabir sahib says that every one dies but not that death which will take us to the almighty..we have to seek a living master get initiated ..The soul is charged and is now eligible to realize HIM ..we have to keep on doing simran and dhyan..slowly the soul current will start travelling upwards to the eye centre which is the seat of the soul and the mind..The soul will start withdrawing from the nine portals and start enjoying the bliss...so we die according to the world but we are in the supreme bliss ,one with the god..

Kabir sahib says that this death is the death while living..if we die this death,we need not be born again and again to die..again we are not sure that we will be given a human body to attain HIM..every birth we are born here we sow new seeds and to harvest it we have to come again again to collect its fruit whether it is good or bad..mango or chilli..it all depends on what seed we are sowing...so lets not sow any more new seed ..

lets live in HIS bliss...

One day i was sitting under the shade of a tree near the river bank, enjoying the orange red ball in a flat grey sky..i saw a notice written-throw only the remains of the individual into the river... I saw a small group of people near the pier..my heart started throbbing... The adults were all claded in white colour, the colour for mourning... I saw one of them carrying a small white bundle... who were these people? I hid myself near the heap of straw... I felt my heart trying to jump out... one man untied the bundle over the water... Then he bowed with folded hands... so many people were coming near the river and throwing -plop-plop-were they bones? The river, unconcerned rolled on silently carrying it all away... I was getting cold. I started running towrds the road- -oh my God what am I doing... I cant run away from death... I could feel the blood pounding against my skull... some day gravity will win... I heard a voice from inside... one day these bones will be ashes, the pulsing heart with blood, lungs, veins will become a handful of ash falling on a puff of air... am I ready for the long journey? Am i doing the spiritual exercise?

Controlling Anger -- Before It Controls You

Uncontrolled Anger is dangerous. The best way to control Anger: just stop what you are doing and chant Hare Krsna mahamantra,a few times, all the while smiling and thanking Bhagavan. It's extremely difficult to be angry and become out of control while you are chanting Bhagavan's name. This is a temporary restraining method.

Akrodha means to check anger. Even if there is provocation one should be tolerant, for once one becomes angry his whole body becomes polluted. Anger is a product of the modes of passion and lust, so one who is transcendentally situated should check himself from anger. Apaisunam means that one should not find fault with others or correct them unnecessarily. Srila Prabhupada GITA 16 -1/3

From anger, delusion arises, and from delusion bewilderment of memory. When memory is bewildered, intelligence is lost, and when intelligence is lost, one falls down again into the material pool. GITA 2:63

Controlling Anger -- Before It Controls You

We all know what anger is, and we've all felt it: whether as a fleeting annoyance or as full-fledged rage.
Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems—problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. And it can make you feel as though you're at the mercy of an unpredictable and powerful emotion. This brochure is meant to help you understand and control anger.
What is Anger?
The Nature of Anger
Anger is "an emotional state that varies in intensity from mild irritation to intense fury and rage," according to Charles Spielberger, PhD, a psychologist who specializes in the study of anger. Like other emotions, it is accompanied by physiological and biological changes; when you get angry, your heart rate and blood pressure go up, as do the levels of your energy hormones, adrenaline, and noradrenaline.
Anger can be caused by both external and internal events. You could be angry at a specific person (Such as a coworker or supervisor) or event (a traffic jam, a canceled flight), or your anger could be caused by worrying or brooding about your personal problems. Memories of traumatic or enraging events can also trigger angry feelings.
Expressing Anger
The instinctive, natural way to express anger is to respond aggressively. Anger is a natural, adaptive response to threats; it inspires powerful, often aggressive, feelings and behaviors, which allow us to fight and to defend ourselves when we are attacked. A certain amount of anger, therefore, is necessary to our survival.
On the other hand, we can't physically lash out at every person or object that irritates or annoys us; laws, social norms, and common sense place limits on how far our anger can take us.
People use a variety of both conscious and unconscious processes to deal with their angry feelings. The three main approaches are expressing, suppressing, and calming. Expressing your angry feelings in an assertive—not aggressive—manner is the healthiest way to express anger. To do this, you have to learn how to make clear what your needs are, and how to get them met, without hurting others. Being assertive doesn't mean being pushy or demanding; it means being respectful of yourself and others.
Anger can be suppressed, and then converted or redirected. This happens when you hold in your anger, stop thinking about it, and focus on something positive. The aim is to inhibit or suppress your anger and convert it into more constructive behavior. The danger in this type of response is that if it isn't allowed outward expression, your anger can turn inward—on yourself. Anger turned inward may cause hypertension, high blood pressure, or depression.
Unexpressed anger can create other problems. It can lead to pathological expressions of anger, such as passive-aggressive behavior (getting back at people indirectly, without telling them why, rather than confronting them head-on) or a personality that seems perpetually cynical and hostile. People who are constantly putting others down, criticizing everything, and making cynical comments haven't learned how to constructively express their anger. Not surprisingly, they aren't likely to have many successful relationships.
Finally, you can calm down inside. This means not just controlling your outward behavior, but also controlling your internal responses, taking steps to lower your heart rate, calm yourself down, and let the feelings subside.
As Dr. Spielberger notes, "when none of these three techniques work, that's when someone—or something—is going to get hurt."
Anger Management
The goal of anger management is to reduce both your emotional feelings and the physiological arousal that anger causes. You can't get rid of, or avoid, the things or the people that enrage you, nor can you change them, but you can learn to control your reactions.
Are You Too Angry?
There are psychological tests that measure the intensity of angry feelings, how prone to anger you are, and how well you handle it. But chances are good that if you do have a problem with anger, you already know it. If you find yourself acting in ways that seem out of control and frightening, you might need help finding better ways to deal with this emotion.
Why Are Some People More Angry Than Others?
According to Jerry Deffenbacher, PhD, a psychologist who specializes in anger management, some people really are more "hotheaded" than others are; they get angry more easily and more intensely than the average person does. There are also those who don't show their anger in loud spectacular ways but are chronically irritable and grumpy. Easily angered people don't always curse and throw things; sometimes they withdraw socially, sulk, or get physically ill.
People who are easily angered generally have what some psychologists call a low tolerance for frustration, meaning simply that they feel that they should not have to be subjected to frustration, inconvenience, or annoyance. They can't take things in stride, and they're particularly infuriated if the situation seems somehow unjust: for example, being corrected for a minor mistake.
What makes these people this way? A number of things. One cause may be genetic or physiological: There is evidence that some children are born irritable, touchy, and easily angered, and that these signs are present from a very early age. Another may be sociocultural. Anger is often regarded as negative; we're taught that it's all right to express anxiety, depression, or other emotions but not to express anger. As a result, we don't learn how to handle it or channel it constructively.
Research has also found that family background plays a role. Typically, people who are easily angered come from families that are disruptive, chaotic, and not skilled at emotional communications.
Is It Good To "Let it All Hang Out?"
Psychologists now say that this is a dangerous myth. Some people use this theory as a license to hurt others. Research has found that "letting it rip" with anger actually escalates anger and aggression and does nothing to help you (or the person you're angry with) resolve the situation.
It's best to find out what it is that triggers your anger, and then to develop strategies to keep those triggers from tipping you over the edge.
Strategies To Keep Anger At Bay
Relaxation
Simple relaxation tools, such as deep breathing and relaxing imagery, can help calm down angry feelings. There are books and courses that can teach you relaxation techniques, and once you learn the techniques, you can call upon them in any situation. If you are involved in a relationship where both partners are hot-tempered, it might be a good idea for both of you to learn these techniques.
Some simple steps you can try:
Breathe deeply, from your diaphragm; breathing from your chest won't relax you. Picture your breath coming up from your "gut."
Slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as "relax," "take it easy." Repeat it to yourself while breathing deeply.
Use imagery; visualize a relaxing experience, from either your memory or your imagination.
Nonstrenuous, slow yoga-like exercises can relax your muscles and make you feel much calmer.
Practice these techniques daily. Learn to use them automatically when you're in a tense situation.
Cognitive Restructuring
Simply put, this means changing the way you think. Angry people tend to curse, swear, or speak in highly colorful terms that reflect their inner thoughts. When you're angry, your thinking can get very exaggerated and overly dramatic. Try replacing these thoughts with more rational ones. For instance, instead of telling yourself, "oh, it's awful, it's terrible, everything's ruined," tell yourself, "it's frustrating, and it's understandable that I'm upset about it, but it's not the end of the world and getting angry is not going to fix it anyhow."
Be careful of words like "never" or "always" when talking about yourself or someone else. "This !&*%@ machine never works," or "you're always forgetting things" are not just inaccurate, they also serve to make you feel that your anger is justified and that there's no way to solve the problem. They also alienate and humiliate people who might otherwise be willing to work with you on a solution.
Remind yourself that getting angry is not going to fix anything, that it won't make you feel better (and may actually make you feel worse).
Logic defeats anger, because anger, even when it's justified, can quickly become irrational. So use cold hard logic on yourself. Remind yourself that the world is "not out to get you," you're just experiencing some of the rough spots of daily life. Do this each time you feel anger getting the best of you, and it'll help you get a more balanced perspective. Angry people tend to demand things: fairness, appreciation, agreement, willingness to do things their way. Everyone wants these things, and we are all hurt and disappointed when we don't get them, but angry people demand them, and when their demands aren't met, their disappointment becomes anger. As part of their cognitive restructuring, angry people need to become aware of their demanding nature and translate their expectations into desires. In other words, saying, "I would like" something is healthier than saying, "I demand" or "I must have" something. When you're unable to get what you want, you will experience the normal reactions—frustration, disappointment, hurt—but not anger. Some angry people use this anger as a way to avoid feeling hurt, but that doesn't mean the hurt goes away.
Problem Solving
Sometimes, our anger and frustration are caused by very real and inescapable problems in our lives. Not all anger is misplaced, and often it's a healthy, natural response to these difficulties. There is also a cultural belief that every problem has a solution, and it adds to our frustration to find out that this isn't always the case. The best attitude to bring to such a situation, then, is not to focus on finding the solution, but rather on how you handle and face the problem.
Make a plan, and check your progress along the way. Resolve to give it your best, but also not to punish yourself if an answer doesn't come right away. If you can approach it with your best intentions and efforts and make a serious attempt to face it head-on, you will be less likely to lose patience and fall into all-or-nothing thinking, even if the problem does not get solved right away.
Better Communication
Angry people tend to jump to—and act on—conclusions, and some of those conclusions can be very inaccurate. The first thing to do if you're in a heated discussion is slow down and think through your responses. Don't say the first thing that comes into your head, but slow down and think carefully about what you want to say. At the same time, listen carefully to what the other person is saying and take your time before answering.
Listen, too, to what is underlying the anger. For instance, you like a certain amount of freedom and personal space, and your "significant other" wants more connection and closeness. If he or she starts complaining about your activities, don't retaliate by painting your partner as a jailer, a warden, or an albatross around your neck.
It's natural to get defensive when you're criticized, but don't fight back. Instead, listen to what's underlying the words: the message that this person might feel neglected and unloved. It may take a lot of patient questioning on your part, and it may require some breathing space, but don't let your anger—or a partner's—let a discussion spin out of control. Keeping your cool can keep the situation from becoming a disastrous one.
Using Humor
"Silly humor" can help defuse rage in a number of ways. For one thing, it can help you get a more balanced perspective. When you get angry and call someone a name or refer to them in some imaginative phrase, stop and picture what that word would literally look like. If you're at work and you think of a coworker as a "dirtbag" or a "single-cell life form," for example, picture a large bag full of dirt (or an amoeba) sitting at your colleague's desk, talking on the phone, going to meetings. Do this whenever a name comes into your head about another person. If you can, draw a picture of what the actual thing might look like. This will take a lot of the edge off your fury; and humor can always be relied on to help unknot a tense situation.
The underlying message of highly angry people, Dr. Deffenbacher says, is "things oughta go my way!" Angry people tend to feel that they are morally right, that any blocking or changing of their plans is an unbearable indignity and that they should NOT have to suffer this way. Maybe other people do, but not them!
When you feel that urge, he suggests, picture yourself as a god or goddess, a supreme ruler, who owns the streets and stores and office space, striding alone and having your way in all situations while others defer to you. The more detail you can get into your imaginary scenes, the more chances you have to realize that maybe you are being unreasonable; you'll also realize how unimportant the things you're angry about really are. There are two cautions in using humor. First, don't try to just "laugh off" your problems; rather, use humor to help yourself face them more constructively. Second, don't give in to harsh, sarcastic humor; that's just another form of unhealthy anger expression.
What these techniques have in common is a refusal to take yourself too seriously. Anger is a serious emotion, but it's often accompanied by ideas that, if examined, can make you laugh.
Changing Your Environment
Sometimes it's our immediate surroundings that give us cause for irritation and fury. Problems and responsibilities can weigh on you and make you feel angry at the "trap" you seem to have fallen into and all the people and things that form that trap.
Give yourself a break. Make sure you have some "personal time" scheduled for times of the day that you know are particularly stressful. One example is the working mother who has a standing rule that when she comes home from work, for the first 15 minutes "nobody talks to Mom unless the house is on fire." After this brief quiet time, she feels better prepared to handle demands from her kids without blowing up at them.
Some Other Tips for Easing Up on Yourself
Timing: If you and your spouse tend to fight when you discuss things at night—perhaps you're tired, or distracted, or maybe it's just habit—try changing the times when you talk about important matters so these talks don't turn into arguments.
Avoidance: If your child's chaotic room makes you furious every time you walk by it, shut the door. Don't make yourself look at what infuriates you. Don't say, "well, my child should clean up the room so I won't have to be angry!" That's not the point. The point is to keep yourself calm.
Finding alternatives: If your daily commute through traffic leaves you in a state of rage and frustration, give yourself a project—learn or map out a different route, one that's less congested or more scenic. Or find another alternative, such as a bus or commuter train.
Do You Need Counseling?
If you feel that your anger is really out of control, if it is having an impact on your relationships and on important parts of your life, you might consider counseling to learn how to handle it better. A psychologist or other licensed mental health professional can work with you in developing a range of techniques for changing your thinking and your behavior.
When you talk to a prospective therapist, tell her or him that you have problems with anger that you want to work on, and ask about his or her approach to anger management. Make sure this isn't only a course of action designed to "put you in touch with your feelings and express them"—that may be precisely what your problem is. With counseling, psychologists say, a highly angry person can move closer to a middle range of anger in about 8 to 10 weeks, depending on the circumstances and the techniques used.
What About Assertiveness Training?
It's true that angry people need to learn to become assertive (rather than aggressive), but most books and courses on developing assertiveness are aimed at people who don't feel enough anger. These people are more passive and acquiescent than the average person; they tend to let others walk all over them. That isn't something that most angry people do. Still, these books can contain some useful tactics to use in frustrating situations.
Remember, you can't eliminate anger—and it wouldn't be a good idea if you could. In spite of all your efforts, things will happen that will cause you anger; and sometimes it will be justifiable anger. Life will be filled with frustration, pain, loss, and the unpredictable actions of others. You can't change that; but you can change the way you let such events affect you. Controlling your angry responses can keep them from making you even more unhappy in the long run.
